Manchester United are in the process of negotiating Rasmus Hojlund’s move to Napoli, with a deal now looking imminent.
According to Ben Jacobs, the two clubs are in direct and ‘advanced talks’ to reach an agreement as swiftly as possible.
The prospective deal would see Hojlund sign for the Serie A champions on loan for the entirety of the season before being made a permanent member of their squad next summer. Napoli’s buy obligation is expected to be around £40 million; United forked out £64 million upfront to buy him from Atalanta two years ago whilst pledging an additional £8 million in add-ons.
Rasmus Hojlund concedes he has to leave United prematurely

Despite heading into the window with absolutely no intention of leaving, Hojlund was essentially backed into a corner to depart Old Trafford following the arrival of Benjamin Sesko.
The Dane was informed by Ruben Amorim and United chiefs that, even though he wouldn’t be forced out against his will, he would be playing a heavily reduced role if he decided to stay. As a result, he begrudgingly opened the door to a move.
AC Milan were thought to be favourites for several days until Napoli entered the race in the aftermath of Romelu Lukaku’s injury setback. Hojlund, unsurprisingly, favoured a move to the Scudetto winners, where he will reunite with former teammate Scott McTominay.
Hojlund on cusp of signing for Napoli
Amorim opted to omit the 22-year-old from his matchday squads for the first two matches of the term, ensuring he didn’t sustain any fitness issues whilst preparing for his exit.
Assuming Hojlund has indeed played his final game for the Reds, he leaves with a record of 26 goals and six assists in 95 appearances.

I cant understand why Utd would want to let Hojlund leave, we do need back up for Sesko.. What if Sesko and both Zirkzee is injured.. Also to make a note of is that Hojlund had to lead the Utd attack alone, did he get the supply as a striker from his team ? No.. But every game you could see him playing with his heart on his sleeve, he is 22 for crying in a bucket, what did people expect from him 20plus goals per season.. This is gonna be another regrettable loan or permanent deal they wanna sanction.
This feels like a bad idea. Jadon Sancho is still at United when we have a player who was ready to fight for a place in the team.
Nothing has changed even with Ruben Amorim at the helm.
Given that Arsenal were too strong for Manchester United, as they have had continuity and also strengthened with stellar recruits.
But Ruben Amorim with pre-season bonding still could not beat even Fulham, managing only a 1-1 draw with both goals scored by Fulham players.
When we he able to show tangible results as the the next three games are going to be tougher with Manchester City and Liverpool beckoning.
Reben Ammorim should consider dropping the Captain and leave out Casimiro. Bring in Benjamin Sesko as number 1 striker and let Mbumo and Cunnha be on the flanges. He should also consider changing the formation. he should not be too rigid to change a formation that is not working. Why is he leaving Maino and Joshua Zirkzee out?
The player deserves the move but Amorim should think of Maino. He is so important and so he shouldn’t leave in this summer
