Manchester United are said to be sizing up an imminent move for Serie A starlet Dan Ndoye – and it’s not the first time they’ve contemplated his arrival.

Back when Ndoye was catching plenty of scouts’ eyes at last year’s Euros, the Red Devils were among his suitors who were mulling over a swoop for the skilful winger, with reports at the time suggesting he was keen on embarking on a new venture in 2024/2024.

Ultimately, nothing came to fruition, and the 24-year-old stayed put to spend another campaign with Bologna – this time without the Old Trafford-bound Joshua Zirkzee.

This week, Italian newspaper Il Resto del Carlino has suggested United are ready to revive their interest in the Swiss forward by submitting an offer in the region of £34.7-£39 million. Bologna do value him at £43m, but could accept a cut-price bid if Ndoye expresses his desire to leave.

In hopes of swaying him towards the prospective transfer, Zirkzee has reportedly held talks with his former teammate to discuss the prospect of the pair reuniting at United.

Who else is interested in Ndoye this summer?

In the event a bid was indeed submitted in the coming days, United are unlikely to be granted a free run at his signature.

Nottingham Forest are still scouring the market for a suitable replacement for Anthony Elanga, whose switch to Newcastle United earned the Reds around £6m via the sell-on clause they included in his terms when he was sold in 2023.

They have landed on Ndoye as a candidate to join Nuno Espirito Santo’s ranks next season, although, like United, they’ve yet to send an offer Bologna’s way.
