Manchester United have seemingly missed out on Victor Osimhen who is reportedly close to sealing his long overdue Napoli exit.

The Nigerian has been at odds with the management of the Italian champions since the tumultuous 2023/24 campaign. The two parties tried to part ways last summer, but they could only muster a temporary move, with the 26-year-old joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan.

During his time in Istanbul, Osimhen proved his credentials once more, scoring 37 goals across all competitions, spearheading the club’s charge towards another league title.

Man United still struggling to find a striker

Therefore, the Lagos native opened the eyes of many suitors with his exploits on Turkish soil, including Man United. The Red Devils thus added Osimhen to their strikers’ shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, INEOS have already missed out on several targets, beginning with Liam Delap who declared for Chelsea, and Viktor Gyokeres who could end up signing for Arsenal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Osimhen could soon join the list of centre-forwards that United failed to recruit this summer, as he could end up staying at Galatasaray after all.

Victor Osimhen ready to seal permanent transfer to Galatasaray

The Italian journalist reveals that the ‘fantastic Nigerian star has already said yes’ to the Turkish champions’ proposal. The two parties agreed on personal terms, with the player ready to sign a contract valid until June 2028.

However, Galatasaray still have a significant gap to bridge in their negotiations with Napoli. The Istanbul-based giants have opened with a bid worth €55 million, while the Partenopei have been holding out for €75 million. This is the figure inserted in the striker’s release clause which will expire on July 15. Thus far, only Al-Hilal have proposed to meet the asking price, but they have been rejected by the player.

In recent days, reports from Spain claimed that Osimhen had chosen Man Utd as his preferred destination, but there haven’t been any confirmations in this regard. If anything, it appears that these reports were way off the mark

More Stories Victor Osimhen

  1. We need to first close out the deal of Bryan Mbeumo and buy a good striker.
If we had bided for Osimhen, he would have accepted our offer. But I don’t know why we are slow for this transfer market.
Hope we’ll not have a repeat of last season’s transfer experience.

  2. Everyday United will be linked to players and this will be followed by rejection. Players do not want to come to United for 2 reasons.
    1. Amorim
    2. No European football.
The sooner United recognise that the better.

  3. INEOS and Berrada and Amorim are the stumbling block for the fall from grace of MU,unable to sign players of the quality required for United they are scrambling to pick up rejects who demand high salaries. Not to worry Sunny Jim is building a new stadium which is great MU will have the best stadium in the EFL,he will increase prices forthe punters a load of garbage.

  4. We still fail to close out deals. This is a problem every transfer window, and we know that especially dealing with premiership players, that clubs are going to add the United tax on. Dorgu and Leon were 2 bargains compared to what we would pay for premiership players.
Some of the stories they are trying to push down our throats are ridiculous, like we have bid for this one and that one. Fans know that we are not able to buy until we sell, but they also know that the money is there for Mbeumo but they still drag it on since before the transfer window opened. This gave Brenford more stones to throw, when they see how much other players who are not as good as him go for 65m plus. We can blame Berada for the first and second offers not being same as Cunha’s when he knew the price Brentford wanted.

  5. Another false headline fans know he was never going to join United from the very start so it comes as no surprise to us fans

    1. True bro, remember the Eric Ten Hag / Franck DeJong script , same fanana

  6. What a pathetic club. They miss out on everyone. United are just bla bla bla.

  7. Ruben Amorim was so fixated with Viktor Gykores , kept playing hide and seek on Victor Osimhen .Despite making it crystal clear he wanted to play in Uefa champions as opposed to Osimhen who not only didn’t mind losing out on champions League but was very amenable to a significant drop in salary , still Ruben couldn’t smell the coffee , shame , doing exactly what his predecessor, Eric Ten Hag did on Franck DeJong , a word of warning to Amorim , fail top four next season , you are history same as predecessor.
