Manchester United fans would’ve likely expected to have more than one signing at Ruben Amorim’s disposal at this stage of the transfer window.
Yet, in the first week of July, INEOS only have Matheus Cunha to show for their efforts in Amorim’s first summer as head coach.
While Cunha undoubtedly poses as a thrilling addition to have in the ranks at Old Trafford, he alone is not enough to transform a side that finished 15th-placed last season into one that will be competing among the Champions League places.
United’s sights are firmly set on in-demand Bryan Mbeumo

Bryan Mbeumo, 25, would certainly aid the quest, and he’s expected to be next through the door.
Targeting Premier League-proven talents such as the attacking duo is a law that should’ve perhaps come into play in the last few seasons.
Cunha (12 goals and seven assists) and Mbeumo (20 goals and eight assists) registered 47 goal contributions between them in the top flight last season, while it goes without saying that the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to meet the standards required of them up front.
Of course, there is no guarantee that the Brentford talisman will join, even if he has made public his desire to join the 20-time champions over the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
INEOS prioritising Mbeumo over any other targets
United’s second bid of £62.5 million – the amount they paid for Cunha, albeit in instalments – was rebuffed by the Bees last week, meaning there is still work to do in negotiations. Reports have suggested Amorim wants Mbeumo at Carrington in time for the start of pre-season on July 7, allowing him the full preparation period to get to grips with his role in the squad before they embark on their upcoming tour.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano confirmed late on Monday evening that agreeing a deal for the Cameroonian international is INEOS’ top priority in the coming days.
“Now as of today, Manchester United’s focus is on closing the Bryan Mbeumo deal as soon as possible. Manchester United are in the process of that,” said Romano on his YouTube channel.
Another time consuming pursuit while other parts are ignored as others snap up the best
Manutd. Are the current clown champions of the soccer world, every club knows how to manipulate muted to overpay for their players by simply playing hardball . Mbembo of Brentford is not worth half the price yet they know stupid brainless United can be easily manipulated, there’s no way Sir Alex Ferguson would have paid that money for MBembo, let him go to spurs or Liverpool, if he’s that good why did only spurs and United bid for them because stupid United does not realise that the new spurs coach help Brentford to suck every penny out of stupid United, Dan Levy knows Mbembo is worth much less, that stupid brainless TenHag the second Amorim is not good enough to coach the manutd. Women team let alone the mens
Basil Bell, you re exactly your writeup. If,truly, you understand ,know football, all your writeups wouldn’t come up. If,you say Bryan doesn’t wort half of the value placed on him, scoring 20 goals with 8 assist, haba??? You need help seriously. All your dissents are worthless really. Bryan, chosed ManUnited solely, even Arsenal bided too. Only,to back out because he insist on ManUnited alone. In fact, first discover your self before and address your blinded mind before addressing ManUnited.
I LOVE THIS, GOD BLESS YOU.
Why our team always slow in terms of selling or buying a player’s, this really frustrating utd Fan’s. It’s shows that’s we don’t have a clear technician besides the responsibility of rulling a successful team.. so we have to act quickly
I agree with you fully. Seems this dude is so full of anger lol. I can’t stop laughing at his continuous remarks of stupidity. It’s comical beyond words. Zero football knowledge, just pure nonsense. Should be watching netball.
Ineos group please get your act together , Mbeumo has categorically stated his desire to join Old Trafford, why the dilly dallying , get on seal the deal and move on to another willing player in the form of prolific goalscorer Victor Osimhen who continues to spun lucrative offers to Al Hilal , honestly what other commitment do you need , Fernandes did the same ; it would be a travesty should Ruben Amorim let Osimhem slip through. We seek and tired of hearing the name of Viktor Gykores continuously linked to Man Utd long after he made it clear Man UTD is not his preferred destination , why slug a dead donkey , he is one of the best strikers without doubt but read the signals .
Well said
Shut up basil brush
Mbuemo’s stats are phenomenal! He has had the highest number of crosses in the EPL, let alone his goal contributions (28 for edification)! He’s style of play (speed, strength and the way he cuts and cracks of the right ) is reminiscent of Mo Salah! IF he continues on his developmental pathway there’s no telling he may produce as the aforementioned Liverpudian! Hell he already is close with 20 EPL goals, that alone is worth far more than whatever this deal will be finalized for! He’s a worth the wait! Every bit of it!!!
Look, as things stand it Football. Many would have called for SAF sacking. People only praise him because of his extreme success, but it took 6 seasons and a FA cup on his 5th to attain that success. He greatest Football manager in history came into a broken squad. Just like SAF, so to did Amorim, it’s a long ride back to the top, united is not going to be fix in one transfer window. I’m South African and I know a lot about changing coach after coach after coach, just because the players are no way close to the best. The SA team in 96 was crazy good, but our inclusion of new talent hit a brick wall. So in order for UTD to be fixed we have to wait a bit. Take Liverpool for example, Kloop came in and had a hard time fixing them, but he managed, it was not done over night. The reason we are paying high, is simple because we need those players, if we did not need them we would have looked elsewhere. Give Amorim the time he needs and UTD will be back to where they belong 1st or 2nd and city down to the bottom, Liverpool should be 2nd or 3rd, Arsenal 3rd or 4th sometimes 2nd, Chelsea 2nd, 3rd, 4th and sometimes 1st that’s the Prem we all know right. But the thing is changing manager after manger ain’t going to work.
Why don’t Sir Jim Radcliffe override brainless Amorim and straight swap Sancho for the out of favour yet dangerous striker ( he’s name escapes me now ,but he’s that big string Belgian hitman)
I don’t take kindly to your foul language Basil , if you are a fan of Man Utd , please desist from offensive language , you have no business castigating Ruben Amorim at this point and juncture , you inadvertently are exuding imponderable ignorance of football administration , the transfer market is not an event but an intriguing process that requires equal satisfaction all round . Navigating all processes smoothly is quite a tall order requiring astute negotiating skills .
Another saga this summer with Mbeumo. Get this deal done or leave it and move on. We will lose out on other targets if this deal is not done soon and move on to striker or midfield where we need to fill also.
Do we have the money
Manchester United is now a club for caricature. We have lost the glory and are not doing hard for revival. I think we should be refer now as “ordinary Manchester United”. Old Trafford has become old trashford. Imagine we can’t buy players from big teams anymore. Even the so called small teams are still dealing with us before they could let us have their players. You can imagine when a player now reject Manunited for Chelsea and Arsenal. what a shame
It is always the case with MU every season buying a player after a long negotiation and buying at an exorbitant cost like how we bought the useless Sancho and Antony. Must have quickly bought Gyokeres over for this price. Dusan vlahovic is available for the swap deal of Sancho, we can quickly buy him, he is an excellent buy. As we know, MU never bought a worthy players after SAF left. So let us continue with the same sequence and expect a renaissance.
Endless negotiations, afterwards the players perform below par . Rasmus, Sancho, Anthony all bought at exorbitant costs but have not made a total of 20 goals, all put together. I wonder how they feel taking their wages weekly. Shame!
Get these deals quickly done and focus on defense and midfield, they are as porous as basket filled with water.
WomanU!
How long!
At the end deadwood will make up the team….Rasmus, Sancho, Anthony. Have they all together contributed 20 goals ever since they arrived?
Shame!
How comfortable they feel collecting their weekly wages baffles me.
Get these deals quickly done and get us a reliable defense and midfield.
Onana, hmmmmmm.
Man Utd are not serious at all, they knew the players they need long time ago, why were they not prepared the money long enough. They will definitely sign rejects and expect to win games and then blame the coach afterwards. I wonder why they not see Jeremy frimborg and being him to Old Trafford. Maybe they need the fans ideas and input over who to sign because they keep making childish blunders on signings. Get Victor Osimhen, Diego Costa (Onana out), Ederson quickly as possible while there’s still light. This club is so disgusting 🤢
United are taking to long to add additional transfer targets. It’s understandable to be cautious due to the money squandered over the last few years . Just one done deal is a recipe for disaster, United cannot afford another disastrous season and with just one signing that’s where they will be heading.
It is very rare for players bought under prolonged sagas to perform as per expectations! Man u should move away from this deal and look for cheap alternatives. They should scout for cheap players from South America or Africa.
INEOS have not learned from the past, they always keep circling around one player, and at the end, they will fails, or by the time they eventually got him,, every other needed players have been signed by other ambitious clubs. From inception of this transfer mkt till now, man UTD have only signed one player in a team that needs total overhaul. Man UTD need a striker, a combative midfielder, and a reliable keeper. Don’t blame the manager if you failed to grant him the needed materials. Now is time to act!
All of you missing the point. The stupid Liverpool deal for Wirtz has inflated the market. It is clear that Amorim knows exactly the type of player he wants. I have no doubt he will perform this season. CL and a trophy expected!
The acquisition of Cunha & Mbeumo into the United fold isn’t enough if they’re serious about building a formidable team to challenge the likes of Liverpool/Man City/Arsenal for Prem/League honours & Euro football. They must also have an additional prolific striker & a creative/attacking midfielder to supplement Fernandez & Mount in the middle of the park.
Do not blame the players, they take and follow the Coach instruction. Even if MU brings in all the world best players and stick to the same Coach, MU will be worst and maybe relegated. Please get a new Coach.
Last season was nothing to do with the coach. The players had no spirit and looked totally clueless when playing together. They had one formation to learn and still struggled with that. Most of the players are at Utd for the money.
INEOS and the staff they brought in to sort out the transfer debacle are just as bad as the incompetent fouls before them. Surely they can work on more than one transfer at a time. Other clubs have brought in 3-4 players already and we are struggling to get in 2. Nothing has changed. SAF must be fuming at what has happened to UTD.
Things are not good at all
Still chasing one player for over two weeks how do our negotiators feel really ,
are they serious with this
Why do we always take so long to make a transfer and buy players we finished 15 because we can’t funcken score a goal
