Manchester United have reportedly enquired about the availability of Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku.
The Red Devils are keen to sign a new centre-forward who will spearhead the club’s charge to redemption starting next season.
Rasmus Hojlund was a major letdown this term, only netting four times in the Premier League. Nevertheless, the Dane still has suitors in Serie A, and chief among them are Inter Milan.
With the 22-year-old possibly out of the door, INEOS will be looking to add a more clinical striker up front. In recent months, they have been linked with a plethora of possible candidates, including Liam Delap (who already signed for Chelsea), Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen, Benjamin Sesko, Dusan Vlahovic and Hugo Ekitike.
And yet, new names continue to emerge onto the scene, as L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi reveals Man United’s interest in Nkunku.
Man United enquire about Christopher Nkunku
The source reveals that the Red Devils have made initial contact with the player’s entourage as they begin assembling information on the versatile attacker.
Tanzi adds that United have yet to submit an official offer, but they intend to sign at least two more forwards before the end of the summer, and one of them should be Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo.
While it remains to be seen if the Reds will launch an onslaught for Nkunku, the report insists that the Frenchman is hellbent on leaving Chelsea this summer.
The PSG youth product sealed a £50 million transfer to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2023, but he has yet to establish himself as a regular starter, despite receiving occasional praise from his manager, Enzo Marseca, as well as his legendary compatriot, Thierry Henry, who identified him as a player he ‘loves watching’.
Where would Nkunku fit in Amorim’s formation

This season, Nkunku made 43 appearances across all competitions, contributing with 14 goals and five assists.
The France international is a highly versatile player, capable of playing as a centre-forward, winger or attacking midfielder.
Given that Man Utd have already signed Matheus Cunha for the No.10 role, and Mbeumo could soon follow suit, Nkunku would probably play as a striker in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.
Still the same INEOS and GLAZERS, so many targets, one. Arrival in over 22days plus, of transfer market. They started the transfer businesses yet they are behind. It happened two years ago, it happened last year, it is happening now. INEOS AND GLAZERS are inefficient and incapable of running man UTD. They should leave the
Man utd should buy a pure striker like Victor of sporting cp or Victor of Napoli
Garnacho is lot better player and proven, what is the Manager doing with the young players
He has bad discipline
Yes yes yes
We need him
He is good and he can give us good result too
Sign him
I just dont know if the Ineos are thinking right well at the moment.if Nkunku didnt perform well in Chelsea with a good system how about United where every player is struggling ?
Do you want to bring another Hojlund or Lukaku , come on , buy someone who is proven united has good midfield and wingers for now , all we need is a good striker.
I wonder why Manu wants the failures
Like nkunku is a flop in charlse
Where will he play, for sure our team needs more prayers otherwise eeeeeh
ManU is in deep trouble
It is the same cycle over again. New Manager buying new players. Then still no improvement. Sack the Manager. Appoint new Manager, then repeat the cycle. When will it stop.
We need a Manager who not only is good tactically but also able to improve players and bring the best out of them. And I dont like Amorim is that person
I don’t think Nkunku is a CF we need a proven centre forward like Osimhen or Gyokeres. Someone that can get us 24/30 goals a season. If we look outside of Europe we could maybe find this player, and affordable to us.
We lost out on kane and bought Anthony rasmus and co.even let our keeper de gae go.ee doing the same now.whats next.sign some and mbeuma.
