Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has expressed a strong desire to join Chelsea this summer, according to The Sun.
The 20-year-old Argentine’s relationship with United has reportedly deteriorated following a series of events that have strained his standing at the club.
Garnacho’s frustrations became public after he was benched during United’s 1-0 Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
In a post-match interview, he openly criticised the team’s performance, stating, “We didn’t beat anyone in the league. We lacked a lot of things. When you don’t score goals, you always need more”.
Ruben Amorim wants to sell Garnacho
This assessment did not sit well with manager Ruben Amorim and some teammates, leading to further tension within the squad.
The situation escalated when Amorim reportedly told Garnacho during a team meeting, “You better pray that you can find a club to sign you,” effectively signaling the end of his tenure at Old Trafford.
Garnacho has made it clear to his representatives that Chelsea is his preferred destination, favouring a move that allows him to remain in the Premier League.
Chelsea, under the management of Enzo Maresca, have shown interest in signing Garnacho to strengthen their attacking options.
The Blues are reportedly preparing a formal bid to secure the winger’s services.
United, recognising the player’s potential and contractual obligations, have set an asking price of £60 million for Garnacho.
Man United want financial gain from Garnacho’s sale
Despite the internal conflicts, Garnacho’s contributions on the pitch have been impressive.
In the 2024–25 season, he recorded 11 goals and 10 assists across all competitions, showcasing his ability to impact games.
Another reason why the Red Devils are considering the sale of Garnacho this summer is because it would be added as pure profit in the club’s books since he is a homegrown player.
It all makes sense why the 20-year-old is being pushed out of the club by the manager.
After Rashford, Aston Villa plot to hand Man Utd another £40m blow
It is going to be a very big mistake for us to sell Garnacho. Instead Amorim should leave Man united. We have been selling good young players and they are excelling in the clubs where they have joined
Be quiet
I totally agree with you . because I don’t see any need to sell Garnacho.this is a player that can score 30 goals a season if he plays in a better team.Garnacho is not our problem.we should fix our main problem
We should sell everyone in that bench and start over again, everything with our team sucks.

Terrible idea for Chelsea. Garnacho is not even as good as Joao Felix. Waste of money. If Rodrygo isn’t leaving Real Madrid this summer, then get Nico Williams. Rafael Leao is also over-rated.
Garnacho’s poor attitude is coming into focus. I was fence-sitting earlier but now I’m keen to sell him. At this point, I don’t much care where he ends up providing we get decent money for him and it happens this window.
Amorim is absolutely right to stand his ground and demand high standards from his players; SAF would have shredded Garnacho by now.
Mr man what are you saying, all those guys that left is it Amorin that sold them.
