Manchester United would be happy to get rid of Rasmus Hojlund this summer, and they could find themselves an ally in Serie A.
The Red Devils splashed circa £64 million to secure the services of the Danish striker following his breakthrough campaign at Atalanta.
The 22-year-old had his highs and lows in his maiden season at Carrington. But while he was expected to make a significant step-up this term, it has been quite the opposite. Rasmus has only scored three goals in the Premier League this season, and also endured a 21-match drought between December and March across all competitions.
The centre-forward’s disappointing display in the first leg against Lyon saw him blasted by Talksport pundit Troy Deeney who described the performance as ‘awful’.
But according to CaughtOffside, Hojlund is highly-regarded by Italian clubs who still recall the great promise he showcased during his run in Bergamo.

Therefore, the source reveals that Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli are all on his trail. All three Serie A giants will be looking to bolster their attacking department next summer, and they have identified the Man Utd struggler as the right profile for the role.
But despite his shortcomings this season, the Denmark international would still command a significant fee, as the Red Devils aren’t willing to register a capital loss after making a big investment in the player a couple of years back. Therefore, the report believes United have set their asking price at €65 million.
Hence, it remains to be seen how much the Red Devils will be able to recuperate from the sum they spent on the young striker.
INEOS will be hoping to collect the highest possible fee so they can reallocate it to a new top-notch striker. The club is currently chasing several notable profiles, including Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Depal.
If we can get 65million euro for Hojlund, let him off. We can buy Gyokeres or Osimhen or even Sesko by adding just a little more to this.
A number 10 and a top midfielder should be priorities then.
After reaching the semi final of Europa League we should now try our under21 and academy players, in league games and maybe we can find a forward who can score goals for us.
I agree regarding Hojland but we dont need to spend on a 10. Bruno, Zirkzee, Mount (if he stays fit will actually be a starter) Mainoo and Amad all do well there. We need 2 strikers, another holding midfielder and a right sided wing back, then if we get that lot a new GK. 10 and CB are the only positions we have actually got decent back up in.
He’ll be two years into his five year contract in July; I would expect MU to accept £39 mil for him on that basis. Not a chance of getting £60 odd million, that’s pure fantasy.
