Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is sick and tired of losing matches, and he made that abundantly clear in his post-match interview following the team’s 1-3 defeat at the hands of Brighton.
The 30-year-old managed to find the back of the net from the spot to draw his side level before the end of the first half, but the Red Devils were second-best to the Seagulls after the interval. Brighton have now become the first team not named Manchester City to win three Premier League contests in a row at Old Trafford.
The visitors also had the edge in the majority of the duels, and this superiority has been mirrored by the final result. Therefore, Fernandes argues his team lacked ‘braveness’ on Sunday afternoon.
“A very disappointing day, a very disappointing afternoon for us. It’s not the performance that we wanted,” said the Portugal international in his interview with Sky Sports.
“For me, it doesn’t matter if it’s home or away: a defeat at Manchester United is always bad. We have had too many already this season.
“I don’t think it is comfortable for them. But we lacked braveness and a bit of belief on turning the result on our side again. We did it against Southampton with eight or ten minutes to go, we should have done it today at least, believe a little bit more and have a bit more braveness and not tire ourselves from the responsibility.”
Man United captain Bruno Fernandes tired of losing matches

Nevertheless, the club captain refuses to accept the club’s current mediocre status, insisting he isn’t here to lose matches, while inviting anyone who doesn’t believe share his winning mentality to leave the club.
“It can’t be. I understand the perspective from the outside. But we can’t be comfortable in thinking that this is ok. Because it’s not. I’m not here to lose games and be in the position we are in at the moment. But I know that no one in that dressing room is and if someone is, they can’t be here.
“It doesn’t matter to me. It’s another loss to us. It doesn’t matter how many times they’ve won against us. I remember in the past where they haven’t won a game here. That’s not going to change anything. The main thing that is going change for us is we didn’t get the three points today. Congratulations to them, they did a good game and they deservedly won the game.”
Fernandez was rubbish today
He needs to shut up
Hey, well done Reds – yet again you have disgraced the name of Manchester United; and this on the day for paying tribute to King Denis. Maybe you thought you could say to to the Lawman: yo Denis, how’s it hanging? We’re United too, you know. ‘ no, you’re not’ replies King Of The Stretford End. Not you, with your £300,000 per week. You could not have fought back after Munich, you could not even have reclaimed top status following relegation, as Doc’s boys did, You’re imposters, genuinely not fit to wear the shirt. What wouldn’t I give to have Roy Keane in charge of you, even if just for one month.
Frauds, the lot of you. ( sparing only Amad and Bruno)
If he did more complaining to the players about their performances during games instead of having a strop at refereeing decisions then he would be a proper captain
Only Bruno controls and plays the ball forward. Perhaps with the exception of Martinez and Ahmed.
All others are not comfortable with moving the ball forward with confidence.
Ball control is absolutely poor. Dalo, is blind to scoring. The good players are weak like Eriksen and casemiro.
