A new left-back is on the agenda for Manchester United it seems.
I don’t think that comes solely down to Ruben Amorim observing the fact we are very light in that department because it’s been that way for two seasons.
INEOS chiefs are well aware of what they need and that it will that time for them to achieve their goals for United. Rome wasn’t built in a day and that is why Amorim deserves patience as head coach.
Reports suggest United are drawing up options for left-back ahead of the upcoming transfer markets. It remains to be seen if they will be buying any new players in January, but we suspect a large portion of the 2025 transfer kitty will be kept for the summer.
United have been long linked with a move for Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies, but landing the Canadian could prove tricky given Real Madrid are understood to be trying to sign him.
The Reds are also closely monitoring AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez as head coach Amorim has made strengthening the position a top priority.
Theo Hernandez back on Manchester United’s radar
These two claims come from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Everyone at United is bound to be concerned about the fitness of the left-backs in the squad. Luke Shaw only returned at the weekend and prioritises England duty when called, while Tyrell Malacia hasn’t been seen in a competitive game for two seasons.

They’re nowhere near reliable and it’s been a long time since they have been. That only raises the question over whether Shaw has ever been reliable in terms of injuries?
Hernandez has been linked with United in the past. It’s an interesting option because he is renowned for being able to play as a wing-back.
The 27-year-old France international likes to get forward and has won the Champions League with Real Madrid in the past.
