Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee has been adjusting to life at his new club following a summer transfer from Serie A outfit Bologna.

The 23-year-old Netherlands international has already been around Europe and knows a thing or two about taking himself out of his comfort zone already, so it doesn’t surprise us that he has quickly settled into his new environment at Manchester United.

Zirkzee opened his United account on his debut in the Premier League opener against Fulham, after coming off the bench as an impact substitute.

It took the Dutch striker just 26 minutes to get on the scoresheet as he latched onto an inviting Alejandro Garnacho cross in front of the Stretford End to clinch the win versus the Cottagers.

In the coming weeks, the former Bayern Munich forward will be aiming to add more goals to his tally for the season, but is showing no signs of being overawed by the size of the club he has joined.

“Well, I’m just very thankful that it’s happened. Now, it’s on to the next one, then on to the next one,” Zirkzee told United Review, as cited by ManUtd.com. “You can’t really hang in the past for too long.”

Recalling his goal against Fulham, the perfect start to life at United, he added: “To get the first goal in front of the home fans, get the win, it was just perfect.”

From the highs of opening his goalscoring account for United and the Netherlands, Zirkzee says he feels like he’s hitting a rhythm in his new surroundings which only bodes well for the future.

He said: “I think that because I’ve been playing, I’m feeling a bit more at home on the pitch as well. I understand the guys more and I don’t feel new anymore!”

United take on FC Twente in the Europa League tonight and time will tell if Zirkzee features in the starting line-up, or whether Marcus Rashford takes his spot for the tie against Dutch opposition.
