Video: Gary Neville mocks Liverpool after first defeat under Arne Slot

Manchester United legend Gary Neville took to Instagram to mock Liverpool following their shock defeat to Nottingham Forest.

It was Liverpool’s first defeat under new manager Arne Slot as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Forest, with former Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi scoring the only goal in the 72nd minute.

Slot’s side will be looking to return to winning ways when they face AC Milan away in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Liverpool result made Saturday better after United came away from St. Mary’s after beating Southampton 3-0. Andre Onana saved a penalty before Matthijs de Ligt, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho got on the scoresheet.

To make matters even better for Neville, Salford City, who he owns 10% of, beat Cheltenham 2-1 at home in League Two.

Salford are currently in 13th place in League Two having won two, drawn two and lost one of their five games.

In a story posted on Instagram, Neville said: “Well, what a football weekend. United win, Salford win and the big one Liverpool lose.”

Neville then laughed before adding that it was a “beautiful weekend”.

While we couldn’t care for Salford, Neville makes a good point. Best weekend of the season so far?
