‘Very good player’ – Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca impressed with Jadon Sancho in training

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca says Jadon Sancho has produced exactly what he expected from him so far in training, after joining the Blues on loan for the season.

Sancho completed his loan move from United to Stamford Bridge on deadline day and he could make his debut at Bournemouth on Saturday night.

The England international looked to impress his new manager during the international break and it seems like he achieved that.

“He has been exactly what I expected,” Maresca said, as per Fabrizio Romano. “He’s a very good player, a one-v-one player with quality in the last thing. I’m sure he’s going to help us.”

However, Sancho knows that the proof is always in the pudding. He needs to back it up in competitive games.

Sancho will have plenty of competition for places at Chelsea.

The likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk and Kieran Dewbury-Hall are all competing for places to play behind striker Nicolas Jackson.

That said, Sancho showed during pre-season that he can play as a false nine.
