Casemiro is ‘likely to stay’ at Manchester United this summer as things currently stand.

According to Sky Sports, the interest Casemiro had been attracting from Saudi Arabia is ‘cooling’.

The report doesn’t completely rule out of an exit for Casemiro, but it is clear from what they are saying that there is little to no interest in the Brazilian veteran.

Casemiro performed abysmally last season and did himself no favours in terms of promoting himself to other clubs. All of the smart clubs will avoid the 32-year-old’s hefty wages which is why we’ve been hoping to see a bid come from the Saudi Pro League.

Sadly, that is a prospect that looks dead in the water.

The idea of Casemiro staying probably won’t appeal to most fans. His form dipped significantly last term to the point he was hardly recognisable. Finding a suitor was never going to be easy this summer and that is proving to be the case.

It looks like we’ll have no other choice but to keep him. That, in turn, could lead to the sale of Scott McTominay.
