Manchester United forward grows impatient with uncertain future

Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood wants his future sorted out in the next week.

Greenwood came to the end of his season-long loan at Getafe this summer and it expected to leave United again this summer.

According to The Mirror, Greenwood is growing impatient with uncertainty over where he will be playing his football in the new season.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with moves to Lazio as well as Marseille, although it is understood that he still favours a move to Spain where he settled with his young family in the past year.

Getafe don’t have the funds to compete for Greenwood’s signature, which gives other Spanish clubs a chance to sign the forward. Valencia have reportedly lodged a €25m bid for Greenwood, who United value at around £40m, while Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are keeping tabs on his situation.

Speaking to Radio Marca in May, as quoted by The Sun, Getafe president Angel Torres would like to have him back in the Spanish capital: “If it depends on the boy and the parents, he will continue another year. Manchester, the news we have from last week, the thing is that if there is a good offer they would like to sell. Because he is not going to return there.

“So we are going to have to wait a month and a half or two months, until the end of June. But it depends on him and the family. They are very comfortable and very happy with the fans.

“He had not played for 16 months when he arrived and we have recovered him, he has scored eight goals in the League and two in the Cup and he has given a great performance.”

Another keep worth keeping an eye on is Juventus.

However, with Greenwood desperate to have his future sorted, any potential deal depends on whether the interested party are willing to meet United’s transfer demands.

Greenwood has begun preparing for the new season by training with former team-mate Shola Shoretire.
