Club omit United-linked player from pre-season training until decision is made on future; deadline set at July 21

INEOS have numerous vital decisions to make in the coming weeks regarding potential incomings and outgoings at Old Trafford.

For example, the likes of outcast duo Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood are awaiting a permanent resolution over their futures, with both expected to complete moves away from Manchester United once and for all.

In terms of the side’s own loanees, Sofyan Amrabat’s United tenure is up in the air after his temporary contract came to an end on June 30. It was thought throughout the term that the board would opt against triggering his buy clause set by Fiorentina, as the majority of his performances left a lot to be desired.

However, the Moroccan’s spirited and relentless shift in May’s FA Cup final triumph seemingly convinced several of his sceptics that he could aid United across the upcoming campaign while bolstering Erik ten Hag’s options in the middle of the park, which may be necessary given that Casemiro is expected to be sold.

Reds have just under two weeks to finalise Amrabat decision

Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Red Devils have until July 21 to choose whether they’ll be activating or ignoring their opportunity to sign Amrabat on a permanent deal. The buy option was initially reported to be £21.4 million, but it’s believed that a fee in the region of £13m to £17m would now be enough to reach an agreement between all parties.

As such, Fiorentina have opted to omit the 27-year-old from pre-season training until they know for certain where his future lies beyond the summer.
