Video: Manchester United 16 y/o spotted training with first-team after six month absence

Manchester United continue to promote exciting youth players after Shea Lacey was spotted training with the first team.

It has been a dire campaign for the first team, with members of the academy emerging as a silver lining and giving fans hope for a positive future.

FA Youth Cup-winning duo Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have emerged as first-team regulars, giving hope to future academy players that they too can become graduates in the senior set-up.

The sheer rise of these players means they’re both already dreaming of their first major international tournament. It’s a testament to how brilliant the club’s academy is, and there is a seemingly endless list of prospects who are supremely talented right now just waiting for their chance.

On Wednesday night, Sky Sports shared a video of Manchester United in training as they prepare for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth. The footage also showed youngster Shea Lacey training amongst the first-team squad.

The 16-year-old, who is highly thought of at the club, has been missing for most of the season with an injury he picked up in late October. He has yet to return to academy football but perhaps United call him into the group for some light training after being out for six months?

Lacey will gain a lot of valuable experience from training with the senior team. Hopefully, ahead of his 17th birthday on Sunday, he will take in all good habits and ignore the bad traits. We might see him in action on the tour next summer.
