Video: ‘I hate them all!’ – United fans will love Ratcliffe’s comical response regarding title-race favourites

Sir Jim Ratcliffe was every Manchester United fan when quizzed on his preference for this season’s title race.

As we’re all well aware, three of United’s fiercest rivals are among the mix to lift the trophy this May – Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City. Just one point separates the sides.

Success for City would see them make Premier League history by winning four in a row, one year on from levelling United’s record of three in a row, whereas for Liverpool, it would mark their 20th and draw them level with the Reds on top-flight titles won.

Therefore, fans will admit that it would leave significantly less of a bitter taste if it was Arsenal, although it remains to be seen if they have the calibre to see it out until the end.

Ratcliffe weighs in on title favourites

Asked by GT Cycling Club who he’d like to see win it, United’s new co-owner responded: “I hate them all! You’ve got Liverpool, Man City or Arsenal. They’re all the enemy. I couldn’t possibly choose.”

“It’d be good for [Mikel] Arteta,” Ratcliffe reasoned with the Gunners-supporting host. “I think it would be good for him because he’s done really well, and Arsenal have been patient with him, which is nice as well.”
