‘Definitely’: Jurgen Klopp drops major line-up hint for Old Trafford that could spell bad news for United

Jurgen Klopp provided an update on his squad ahead of their short trip to face Manchester United on Sunday.

As has been the case throughout the majority of the campaign so far, Erik ten Hag is navigating numerous debilitating injury woes, with the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Mason Mount all ruled out – amongst several others.

Liverpool are tending to a fitness crisis of their own, too. You could argue that the absence of Mohamed Salah was their most significant concern after he sustained a hamstring complaint during the Africa Cup of Nations, although their frontline was able to step up to the plate.

He made his first start since the beginning of January last night for the second leg of Liverpool’s Europa League last-16 win over Sparta Prague, notching one goal and three assists upon his return to the starting 11.

Salah ready to start vs United

The Egyptian is set to be named on the teamsheet again when the two longtime rivals lock horns in M16 and unfortunately for United, they’re a team that he boasts a pretty impressive record against. In 13 meetings across all competitions, Salah has recorded 12 goals and four assists.

In Friday’s pre-match press conference, Klopp told reporters (via Liverpool Echo): “Mo is definitely ready [for Sunday]. [Ibrahima] Konate hasn’t trained today, we’ll have to see if he can train tomorrow. A tight, tight race that we will probably lose. Bobby Clark has some swelling. [Ryan] Gravenberch trained today so he is ready. Others after the break.”

  1. For me it doesnot make sense for LFC to play their strong squad given injuries and the league title that needs attention. We have as a result of injuries. If I were Klop I would target premier league and Europa league. Therefore rotation can be good
