Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has been included in the Scotland squad for their upcoming friendlies this month against the Netherlands and Northern Ireland.
The United academy graduate has enjoyed his best goalscoring season yet – not only for club, but country also – and he will be hoping to continue his form at Euro 2024 this summer.
Scotland start their European Championships campaign with a clash against Germany on June 14.
Steve Clarke’s squad was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

They won’t be going into the opening game as favourites – or possibly any at the competition – but that is not going to kill the Scottish belief this summer. McTominay and co will believe they stand a chance of reaching the knockout phase of the competition, even as underdogs.
Scotland start preparing for Euro 2024 with two friendly matches in March against the Netherlands on Friday, March 22, before taking on Northern Ireland on Tuesday, March 26.
From a United perspective, I’ll be watching Euro 2024 hoping that all of our players avoid injuries and that they don’t play too many minutes with fear of burnout, especially when it comes to Bruno Fernandes when you consider the amount of football he has played over the past two years.
