Harry Kane has long been coveted by Man United, and only an inability to agree any sort of deal with Daniel Levy at Tottenham Hotspur saw the England captain move to Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich.
Even if silverware appears beyond the Bavarians this season, Kane is enjoying a wonderfully prolific personal campaign.
So far this season, he’s managed an incredible 33 goals in 33 games in all competitions for Bayern, per WhoScored.
Kevin Nolan believes Harry Kane would choose Man United if he moves from Bayern
At 30 years of age he’s showing no signs of slowing down, and some unfinished business in the Premier League could perhaps see him move back in due course.
West Ham’s assistant manager, Kevin Nolan, certainly believes that will be the case.
“I can certainly see him back in the Premier League,” he said on talkSPORT (h/t HITC).
“I don’t think Tottenham would have ever have sold him to Manchester United, but for him to go to Bayern Munich, then it’s easier for him to come back from Germany and I think Man United will be his destination.
“I think they (Bayern) would want their money back. Of course (he is worth it). 20+ goals every season and he was playing for Tottenham during them times as well.
“Realistically, are Man United as good as Tottenham? But I just think he brings a different aura to them anyway, a different aura to the team as soon as he puts the shirt on for, whoever.
“But I probably think Man United would be the one.”
It must be remembered that Tottenham have a buy back option on their former player which gives them the opportunity to match any bids for Kane should Bayern consider cashing in.
It would be difficult for them to make a case to do that given how important the centre-forward has been in his debut season.
Without his goals, it’s doubtful that an underperforming Bayern side would be where they currently find themselves in the Bundesliga, so it makes little sense to allow him to leave – unless he expresses a preference to move back home.
Were he to have a decent European Championship, any transfer fee might put him out of reach in any event.
