‘Not a lot of people do that’ – Man United star praised by Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry has given Bruno Fernandes high marks for his performance against Manchester City last weekend and for setting up Marcus Rashford’s goal.

Since Thierry Henry is regarded as one of the finest players to have ever played in the Premier League, his opinions are highly respected.

There was plenty to consider following Manchester United’s 3-1 loss to Manchester City, but Henry chose to concentrate on the crucial part Bruno Fernandes played in Marcus Rashford’s first goal.

“Bruno Fernandes, and I know that the strike of Rashford is magnificent, but you will see on the replay, Bruno Fernandes is telling Rashford, ‘Look, I am going to put that on the platter for you. Wait, I will hold, I will hold, and I will give you a ball for you to strike’,” Henry said on Sky Sports.

“Not like a hard ball for a one-two, no, and I know people will tell me, that’s obvious. But, no, not a lot of people do that. He put that on the platter for him. John Stones, unfortunately for him, turns, and what a strike and what a start for Man United at the beginning of the game.”

Henry was part of the Monday Night Football coverage on Sky Sports and he was discussing the Manchester derby.

Even though United couldn’t beat City at the Etihad, there were some strong performances from the players. Bruno Fernandes, Jonny Evans and Andre Onana were praised by fans and the media for their performances.

It wasn’t enough to beat Pep Guardiola’s strong City side but this should give the fans and manager hope for the upcoming matches.
