All of a sudden there is talk of Mason Greenwood potentially returning to Manchester United.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe was asked about Greenwood’s future when he met with reporters in London on Wednesday. The Manchester United co-owner didn’t shy away from reopening the infamous chapter because he wants his Ineos Sports group to reassess the decision before making their own.
Ratcliffe said: “It’s a fresh decision. I can talk about the principle. I am not going to talk about Mason.
“I am familiar with it. The principle is the important one. We will have other issues going forward.
“You are dealing with young people who have not always been brought up in the best circumstances, who have a lot of money and they don’t always have the guidance they should have.
“What we need to do when we have issues like that is understand real effects, not the hype.
“Then we need to make a fair decision in the light of the club’s values. That’s what we need to do and that’s how we will deal with it.”
I mean, it should come as no surprise that Ratcliffe doesn’t want to go along with ANY of the decisions former chief executive Richard Arnold made before showing him the door.
It is now being suggested that Ratcliffe could open the door to a return for Greenwood.
According to The Sun, Greenwood would snub a move to Barcelona if he was given the opportunity to return to Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old, who is currently on loan at Getafe, believes he has a “debt” to repay United fans and the manager Erik ten Hag.
A source close to Greenwood told The Sun: “Mason respected the decision Manchester United made to send him to Spain, but he always wanted to return to the team after the police investigation involving him came to an end.
“He believes he has a debt to repay the fans and the manager and would love a second chance.
“To him, Manchester United is the biggest and best club in the world and if a chance emerged for him to go back he would.
“Barcelona are among a number of clubs interested in signing him.
“But if United threw him a lifeline to resurrect his career at Old Trafford, he’d be on the quickest flight home.”
Greenwood has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, but Barcelona are probably the biggest to reportedly show an interest in his signature.

why wanna sell a good player who is already in the club and spend more money to bring in someone who is not proven or tested? what is the moral in todays text?? people tend to judge other’s rather than themself, just let the already poor boy carry on with what he is good at and bring the club back to where it should belong
