Rasmus Hojlund has given his post-match verdict on Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Luton Town.
The Dane will be taking the praise again after he netted the Reds’ only two goals of the game, the first of which saw him etch his name into the Premier League history books by becoming the youngest-ever player to score in six consecutive matches (21 years and 14 days old).
His opener came within just 40 seconds of kick-off as he latched onto a loose ball to eventually slot it calmly past Thomas Kaminski. The second was certainly one that caught viewers’ eyes; Hojlund cleverly adjusted his body to send Alejandro Garnacho’s wayward shot on target and into the back of the net.
It’s now 13 goals and two assists in all competitions for the forward and he’s showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The win also put United just five points away from the top-four, which is remarkable considering the prospect of Champions League football was all but written off prior to Christmas.
Hojlund reacts to gritty Hatters victory
Reacting to tonight’s affairs with Sky Sports, Hojlund analysed: “Good beginning, then we drop off. 2-1 is a dangerous scoreline. I think we created a lot in the second half. I think we got a little bit lucky, but all that matters is the three points.”
“Yes [I meant it], 100 per cent,” he said of his second contribution. “It was such a good goal. I try skills like that in training when doing kick-ups. I have confidence at the moment, so they go in.”
