‘I’ll wait until the summer’: United-linked CB admits he has crucial transfer decision to make at the end of the season

Reported Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo has opened up on the plethora of transfer interest he’s received over the past months.

The 24-year-old has been the subject of widespread speculation over his future due to the superb campaign he’s having with OGC Nice this term; the side sit second-placed in Ligue 1 and have conceded just 11 goals in 20 matches.

Given that he plays for the INEOS-owned outfit, his links to United became even stronger when Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25 per cent stake was announced – though it’s still in the process of being ratified by the Premier League. His desired sporting structure is expected to be in place by the summer window.

Should the Reds ignite their pursuit of Todibo, they could face interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, with the latter going as far as opening talks for the Frenchman last month.

Chelsea will likely be looking to replace 39-year-old veteran, Thiago Silva, while Erik ten Hag announced on Thursday that he’s unsure whether Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans will stay at Old Trafford beyond the expiration of their contracts in June.

Todibo has crucial summer decision to make

Weighing in on the non-stop rumours, which will undoubtedly heighten towards the end of the season, Todibo said (as cited by The Mirror): “I am at Nice and we’re having a great season. I don’t have my head elsewhere. If I did it would be difficult for me personally and for the group too.

“I feel really good at Nice. We’ll see what happens in the summer but we’re not there yet. I don’t want to get ahead of myself. I don’t want to give false hope. For now, I’m here at Nice.”

“Football moves quickly, you never know what’s going to happen. I’ll wait until the summer to make my decision. If my decision is to stay, I’ll announce it, if it is to leave, I’ll announce it too and I’ll thank everyone, but we’re not there yet,” he added.
