Manchester United are back in action this weekend as Erik ten Hag looks to win his third straight game in the Premier League following back-to-back wins against Wolves and West Ham.
Ten Hag will be hoping that a corner has finally been turned after a highly turbulent first half of the season but Sunday’s trip to Villa Park will not be an easy task.
Villa are this season’s surprise package, with Unai Emery’s men comfortably in the race to finish in the top four. The Villa Park club won this fixture last season and it looked like they were going to win this season’s game at Old Trafford when they grabbed a 2-0 lead.
That game, just before Christmas, ended in a highly dramatic fashion as Rasmus Hojlund’s late goal sealed a remarkable turnaround victory. Ten Hag will be hoping for less drama but the same outcome on Sunday.
Ten Hag will be without Lisandro Martinez for the game after just welcoming him back from a long-term injury. The Argentina international sustained a serious knee injury in the win over West Ham and is ruled out for the foreseeable future.
