Manchester United have reportedly enquired to Atalanta over the prospect of signing versatile midfielder Ederson.
As per Goal, the Red Devils are joined by rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in potential pursuit of the former U20 Brazil international, while Sky Sports claim that Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked.
Indeed, it could prove to be a race for Ederson’s signature if all clubs remain interested in the summer transfer window. United will be operating under INEOS’ control by then and they’ll be looking to make a statement of intent to the Old Trafford faithful by bolstering Erik ten Hag’s squad how they see fit.
United will have likely built strong foundations with Atalanta due to their previous transfer dealings. More recently, the Reds agreed a £72 million package for Rasmus Hojlund’s summer switch last year but going even further back, Amad Diallo was signed from the Serie A outfit in January 2021.
Ederson, 24, has notched six goals and one assist in 28 appearances across all competitions, playing a key role in his side’s quest for a Champions League spot.
