Three Barcelona players Man United could ask for in Mason Greenwood swap deal

Mason Greenwood is reportedly of interest to Barcelona, and Manchester United might profit from this more than simply a transfer money.

Erik ten Hag has a unique chance to sign one of Barca’s most sought-after talents as the La Liga powerhouses are reportedly eager to sign the 22-year-old permanently in the summer.

With seven goal contributions in 16 league appearances this season, Greenwood is having a fantastic loan spell at Getafe. However, they would not be able to pay his transfer fee or salary because they have one of the lowest budgets in La Liga.

According to The Sun, Greenwood has told his advisors to seal a ‘dream’ move to Barcelona. The player, who was moved out of Old Trafford, is said to seek the transfer, which would put him back at the top.

Financial problems have forced the Catalan club to be frugal with their spending in recent years.

Ten Hag would be prudent to raise the possibility of signing one of the three Barcelona stars in a player-plus-cash deal or a simple exchange if talks get to that.

Ronald Araujo is reportedly admired by United for a long time.

The 24-year-old is among the most sought-after central defenders in Europe right now, and even though Deco, the transfer head for Barcelona, has already stated that he is not for sale, Greenwood’s presence might alter that.

Valued at £69 million, United would probably need to contribute some of their own funds to the Greenwood exchange deal in order to have a chance of persuading influential senior officials at Camp Nou.

Raphinha is another player who has ties to Old Trafford dating back a long way.

The 27-year-old enjoyed two successful seasons in the Premier League with Leeds United. With Jadon Sancho on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Antony putting up appallingly low numbers at Old Trafford, United could use a top-tier winger.

This season in La Liga, Raphinha has scored three goals and provided five assists for Barcelona, who are eight points behind league leaders Girona. According to reports, the Brazilian is not entirely indispensable at Barcelona.

Ten Hag and his think tank could have a higher chance of including Andreas Christensen if they are unable to include Araujo or Raphinha. According to reports, United and Newcastle have been monitoring the circumstances surrounding the former Chelsea player.

In central defense, Xavi has several options but United need more players. Raphael Varane’s contract expires in June, and Lisandro Martinez has missed games due to injury this season.
