Consequently, Onana could be heading back to Manchester United a lot sooner than he’d have hoped. Should his nation exit the tournament tonight, he could well be named in the starting 11 to take on Newport County in Sunday’s fourth-round FA Cup tie. This would mean Altay Bayindir is still being made to wait for his club debut.

Onana conceded three goals last time out as Cameroon fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of reigning champions Senegal. His performance drew criticism from viewers – something he’s unfortunately grown accustomed to this season.
