United’s stance on forward’s exit could be ‘relaxed’ before deadline day amid interest from numerous clubs

Manchester United could reportedly change their stance on Amad Diallo’s exit before the window closes on February 1.

Various outlets reported last week that after conversations between the player and Erik ten Hag, it had been decided that Amad would be staying at Old Trafford for the remainder of the campaign.

He was granted his first outing of the season in the 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest on December 30 but missed the subsequent two matches (Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League) through illness.

It came after a lengthy spell on the sidelines while Amad recovered from a severe knee injury sustained on the pre-season tour, which meant he was unable to quickly build on his scintillating loan spell with Sunderland in the 2022/2023 term; he scored 14 goals and assisted another four as he aided the Black Cats on their way to the play-off semi-finals.

Amad could depart on loan

A fresh update from Goal now claims that United could become more ‘relaxed’ in their stance on the 21-year-old’s whereabouts after receiving approaches from Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Leeds United.

With competition from Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Facundo Pellistri on the flanks, game time could prove hard to come by from now until the summer.
