Round-up from Manchester United’s treatment room: Six players absent

No team in the Premier League has endured a worse injury crisis than Manchester United.

There was a bit of positive news prior to the winter break when Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro returned to the squad.

However, United still have six players in the treatment room at Carrington.

They include Harry Maguire (groin), Victor Lindelof (groin), Luke Shaw (unspecified), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Mason Mount (calf) and Anthony Martial (hip).

The Reds are back in action on Sunday when they take on Newport County in the FA Cup fourth-round.

Out of the six players listed, Shaw is most likely to return for this one since he missed out on the last game against Tottenham which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Shaw has missed a lot of football this season due to injury, but having him back fit will be a big boost because it means having our primary left-back — as well as one of our best performers last season — available again.

With a bit of luck we’ll have less injuries in the second half of the season. And, in turn, that should mean better results.
