Borussia Dortmund boss hails Jadon Sancho’s performance in training

Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic has contracted Erik ten Hag with his praise of Jadon Sancho’s performances in training.

Sancho has returned to Dortmund and everyone at BVB is keen to stress that the winger has suddenly become a model professional. Of course, none of us are naïve enough to fall for that nonsense and realise it’s still the honeymoon period of a short loan spell.

Hardly the second coming of Pele.

When asked how Sancho had been performing in training since his return, Terzic said (via The Mirror): “It’s true that Jadon arrived with good stats. Nevertheless, we know how the last few weeks and months have gone for him. He’s doing well this week. We also tested Ian Maatsen again on Tuesday. Both are outstandingly good. Nevertheless, we will handle it with caution.”

Sancho made his debut for Dortmund last week in a 3-0 win over Darmstadt, registering an assist after coming off the bench in the second half. He could make his first start under Terzic tomorrow in a 14:30 kick-off against Koln.

Dortmund are currently placed fifth in the Bundesliga – 3 points adrift of fourth-place RB Leipzig.

However, we have not forgotten that Sancho was dropped from United’s matchday squad in September when Ten Hag put his absence down to the player not meeting the required standards in training.

Sancho responded to this by hitting out at the manger on social media and was subsequently frozen out of the first team.

This led to months of training away from the first team as well as reports of a player that regularly arrived late for training, which is something he was punished for during his first spell at Dortmund.
