Dutch striker emerges as top target for AC Milan amid Manchester United links

Respected Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that AC Milan have made Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee a key target for the summer.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United are also being linked with a move to sign the 22-year-old this year.

Speaking to soccernews.nl, Di Marzio said: “Is his market value of €35m? No, I think more. He has a release clause in his contract worth €50m. And Bayern Munich has the option to bring him back for 50% of that amount. He is a key target for AC Milan, and I think he will move to an Italian top club or maybe the Premier League.

“He is so strong, and has so many qualities. In Serie A, he is the striker who leaves the best impression in Italy after Lautaro Martinez. Thiago Motta is in a list to become the coach of Milan, and Motta and Zirkzee have been in contact; maybe he will take him with him if he’ll join Milan.”

According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, United are seriously keen on a move for Zirkzee to boost their striker department. He claims initial talks have already taken place.

Zirkzee has been in good form for Bolonga this season and is currently top scorer in Serie A after netting seven times in 19 league matches.
