BBC journalist claims Man United will make a move for £100m English striker

As much as the club is desperate to add players in the January transfer window, most of Manchester United’s business will be done in the summer transfer window.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25% takeover of Man United will be approved by the Premier League next month and so the new part-owner can fully back the club starting from the next transfer window.

The Red Devils are looking to sign a striker to provide Erik ten Hag with a better finisher and a lethal goal scorer.

Man United’s quest to sign a striker may see them make a move for former Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who joined Bayern Munich last summer.

Speaking on the BBC’s ‘Transfer Gossip Daily’, journalist Luke Edwards stated that the Premier League club will be making one or two big moves in the summer and they can target the England captain and all-time top goal scorer.

He said: “There’s [Victor] Osimhen at Napoli and there’s Harry Kane at Bayern Munich who I think Manchester United will be in for in the summer.

“I think it’s probably easier for Manchester United to sign him from Bayern Munich than it ever was going to be from Tottenham Hotspur – but is he going to want to come home?

“He’s just had his mate Eric Dier arrive to keep him company which is nice, and he’s doing really really well in Germany.”

He continued: “I don’t see Bayern Munich wanting to let him go in the summer, I don’t see Harry Kane wanting to come back to England if I’m perfectly honest.”

Signing Kane might not be easy for United but it’s going to be easier to sign him from Bayern Munich than it would have been to sign from Spurs considering how difficult it is to deal with Daniel Levy.

Luke Edwards added that United will also target Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the summer.
