‘To be announced as completed’: United midfielder’s switch to La Liga club appears to be at final stages

Hannibal Mejbri has seemingly chosen Sevilla over Everton for where he’ll spend the remainder of the 2023/2024 campaign.

The Manchester United youngster looked set to join the La Liga side last week, choosing them over Freiburg and Olympique Lyonnais, before Everton made an 11th-hour approach to hijack the deal.

However, it seems Sean Dyche’s best efforts weren’t enough to sway Hannibal towards Goodison Park, as Mike McGrath claims that the player’s transfer to Sevilla has progressed and is ‘to be announced as completed’.

Hannibal, 20, opted to negotiate an Old Trafford exit this month over representing Tunisia at the Africa Cup of Nations. Game time is crucial for him at this stage of his career and so far this season, he’s only been granted a mere 10 appearances under Erik ten Hag, totalling 327 minutes worth of action.

The Athletic reports that his prospective loan contract is set to include an option for Sevilla to make his move permanent in the summer, as well as a buy-back clause for United.
