Manchester United confirm Jadon Sancho loan move

Jadon Sancho’s loan move to former club Borussia Dortmund has been confirmed. The Manchester United winger joins the Bundesliga club until the end of the season after being banished from Erik ten Hag’s first team for disciplinary issues.

Manchester United confirmed the move was a done deal this afternoon and it spells the end of the winger’s United exile, following his ill-advised fall-out with the manager.

Sancho will hope that he can rectify his career over the coming months in familiar surroundings at BVB, where he emerged as one of Europe’s most promising talents prior to his switch to Old Trafford in 2021.

Sadly, the transfer never went to plan but Sancho cannot pin the blame entirely on Ten Hag as he worked with a total of three managers at United and failed to show why he was so highly rated in Germany.

Dortmund have no option to buy at the end of the agreement, but they have agreed to contribute €3.5m, rising up to €4m in add-ons subject to appearances and success, such as Champions League progress and qualification.

Sancho has made 82 Reds appearances for United, scoring  just 12 goals across all competitions.  He will wear No. 10 at Dortmund until the end of the season.
