Hannibal Mejbri has reportedly decided to sign for Everton on loan for the remainder of the 2023/2024 campaign, despite previously agreeing a temporary deal with Sevilla.
The 20-year-old has been expected to depart Manchester United this month after Fabrizio Romano confirmed the player was seeking increased game time elsewhere, which consequently ruled him out of the Africa Cup of Nations with Tunisia while talks began with interested clubs.
Last week, Romano announced that Hannibal was set to join Sevilla on loan, with all parties having given the green light to the deal. However, Everton then entered the race at the 11th hour in an attempt to hijack the move and bring the midfielder to Goodison Park.

Hannibal opts to stay in England
It looks as though the negotiations have swayed him towards Merseyside, as The SunĀ now claim that Hannibal is closing in on a switch to the relegation-threatened Toffees. The prospective transfer also works well for United, as theyāre keen for him to prove himself in the Premier League.
Should he impress, the Carrington graduate could play a key role at Old Trafford next season.
