Eredivisie club leading race for one United youngster; 21-year-old expected to stay after ‘impressing’ Ten Hag

Facundo Pellistri is being heavily linked with a loan move to PSV Eindhoven this month after garnering interest from numerous clubs, as per the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old has been targeted by Flamengo, Villarreal and LA Galaxy over both loan and permanent deals, with it now looking as though the Eredivisie outfit could pip them all to the player’s signature.

Should Pellistri make the switch in the coming weeks, he’ll look to aid the side in their title charge, as well as progressing in the Champions League where they face Borussia Dortmund in the last-16 of the competition.

So far this term, the winger has been granted considerably more playing time than he did last season (214 minutes) by featuring for a total of 366 minutes across 14 appearances, though only three of these outings have been as a starter.

A loan would suit Pellistri

Amad Diallo’s recent return to the fold after a long-term injury, as well as Alejandro Garnacho’s prolific form, could well see Pellistri’s time on the pitch slashed even further from now until the summer.

Chris Wheeler’s report adds that Amad, 21, has been ‘impressing’ Ten Hag since making his comeback and therefore will be kept at the club this window to bolster the manager’s options in attack.

A temporary exit to see how Pellistri fares in a youthful, exciting squad may make Erik ten Hag view him in a different light and granted a more significant role next term.
