Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho were rightfully basking in the glory of their heroics that saw Manchester United claim a much-needed win over Aston Villa.
The two youngsters’ contributions rounded off a triumphant comeback for the Red Devils on home turf last night, with Alejandro Garnacho’s brace levelling the scoreline to 2-2 after a deflating first half that saw Villa open the scoring and take a two-goal lead.
Hojlund, 20, then registered his maiden Premier League contribution after a 14-game wait, and while he’d have much rather it came sooner, it created a moment that everyone in attendance at Old Trafford will remember fondly for years to come. The Dane’s response to his winner was filled with pure relief, elation and euphoria.
Hojlund’s post-match praise for Garnacho
Post-match, the Reds were on media duties to react to Boxing Day’s emphatic affairs in M16, and both were quick to heap praise on one another for their efforts.
“Whether he plays on the left or the right, he’s an incredible talent and… only 19,” Hojlund said of teammate Garnacho.
“We talk a lot and try to connect because we hope we have many years here at Manchester United to come.”
