(Video) ‘Happiest man alive’ – Rasmus Hojlund over the moon with first Premier League goal

Rasmus Hojlund celebrated his first Premier League goal to make it 3-2 to Manchester United against Aston Villa.

The young Danish striker’s long-awaited first Premier League goal completed a stunning comeback as Manchester United recovered from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa at Old Trafford. It’s rare that Villa come to Manchester as favourites but that was the case today as we defeat all odds to take three points, from a two-goal deficit too.

Villa appeared to be headed level on points with league leaders Liverpool after two goals from John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker put them 2-0 up after 26 minutes. United came out the better team in the second half and put it to the high-flying Villains. It was proof this team still has a bit of character about it as Alejandro Garnacho scored twice before Hojlund won it in the 82nd minute with a stunning strike.

Speaking to Amazon Prime after the match, Hojlund said he was the happiest man alive right now after scoring his first Premier League goal in United’s 3-2 win: “It has been a while [waiting for a first league goal] but yes I am very happy. I am the happiest man alive right now. You can see from the celebrations as well. Like [Garnacho] said we believed in ourselves until the very end and got the win today.”

Hojlund was then asked how tough it was waiting for that first league goal. He added: “As the manager has said before I have scored a few goals in the Champions League but of course it has been a while in the Premier League before scoring. Now I have got it and I hope I can just build on that and keep going.

“Yes I remember the goal. First-time finish in off the post, good finish so I am happy. I am happy for the three of us attackers as well because we showed a lot of character today, and a lot of confidence.”

United have now won 14 Premier League games in which they have trailed by at least two goals, at least five more such wins than any other side in the competition’s history.

  1. Arrrrm. This boy put a reasonably colossal sum on our Rasmus to outscore the Norwegian freak in the Premier.
OK, there’s a chance I’ve lost that money, but I’m now saying he’ll get 20 / 20+, PROVIDING HE GETS SOME SERVICE. Great match tonight: like the Fergie years. Can we win two back-to-back? Huh? Huh? Please? Can we? Huh?
Please? Ahhh go on, go on. Please? Pretty please? Ahh go on.
