Shaw 6, Hojlund 4: Manchester United player ratings after West Ham defeat

It was another terrible result for Manchester United against West Ham in the Premier League this afternoon.

Manchester United lost their 13th game of the season which proves just how bad things are right now for the Reds. Erik ten Hag’s side were comfortable at times without ever looking like they were going to score, with a midfield lacking in any real creative spark for the attacking players.

It is clear that we need more threat in the team, but without further ado here is how we thought each player performed against West Ham in London.

Onana – 6

Good save to deny Emerson in the first-half. Lucky for Jarrod Bowen’s opening goal.

Wan-Bissaka – 5

Didn’t put a foot wrong defensively but offered nothing in attack.

Kambawala – 6

Solid debut. Strong, commanding and good on the ball. Hats off to him.

Evans – 5

Brought experience to the fold to help his debutant partner. Got away lucky after a crazy back pass to Onana.

Shaw – 6

Probably United’s best player on the pitch.

Mainoo – 5

Big mistake for West Ham’s second goal but had played well up until that point.

McTominay – 4

Quiet again.

Fernandes – 4

Lacking in cutting edge.

Garnacho – 5

Some positive signs on the left-flank, tracked back but couldn’t show any end product.

Hojlund – 4

Bad afternoon at the office.  West Ham’s defence didn’t give him a sniff.

Antony – 4

Created a good chance for Garnacho in the first-half. Didn’t track Bowen for the goal.

Only substitute that played long enough for a rating was Marcus Rashford, who couldn’t have an impact on the game. 5
