Rasmus Hojlund’s wait for first Premier League goal doesn’t concern Erik ten Hag

Rasmus Hojlund’s lack of goals in the Premier League is starting to prompt questions at press conference.

The 20-year-old is just getting a taster of what the British media can be like, but fans that pay close attention can see that we’ve got an extremely talented young striker on our hands.

The Denmark international joined United from Atalanta in the summer and was dealt the responsibility of leading Ten Hag’s attack into the new season. A job better suited to a more experienced player, but Hojlund has shown plenty of promise and I am excited to see him score goals in the future.

Hojlund has done that in the Champions League, scoring five goals during the group stage, but he has yet to find the back of the net in the Premier League. United fans will hope he can open his account on Sunday against Liverpool at Anfield.

Speaking to reporters (as per the Manchester Evening News), Ten Hag revealed that he has no concerns about Hojlund’s lack of goals in the league. The manager will remain patient to those with so much potential but he must also address the goalscoring situation at United.

“As you’ve said, he’s scored in the highest level in the Champions League with five goals. That’s a huge performance from a young player and you see he has the potential. I’m sure he will get there and score in the Premier League. I see how he works in training.”

United will be hoping for three points versus Liverpool but the odds are stacked against us.
