Manchester United-linked striker rejects contract offer from club as he eyes ‘next step’

Stuttgart ace Serhou Guirassy has rejected a contract offer from his club as he continues to be heavily tipped for a transfer in 2024.

It comes amid strong interest from Manchester United, Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund, though if he’s swaying for a mid-season switch, he’ll know that the prospect of European football is now ruled out with either of the English clubs.

As per Christian Falk, Stuttgart have tried to buy out his release clause of £15.1 million, which was included in his terms when he signed from Rennes in the summer. Since then, he’s notched a remarkable 18 goals and two assists in 14 appearances (all competitions), so it’s clear to see why the board could come to regret signing off on such a low fee.

Alas, Guirassy is seemingly aware of the opportunities that could unfold for him if his prolific form continues and has turned down the proposal from his club; Falk claims that the 27-year-old is ‘ready for the next step’.”
