Everton boss Sean Dyche has confirmed that Amadou Onana will be unavailable for Sunday’s return to Premier League action.
The Toffees take on Manchester United in hopes of overseeing a spirited performance and a victory on the back of their 10-point deduction. While they plan to appeal the punishment, they have fallen to 19th in the table; level on points with Burnley and one behind Sheffield United.
Prior to the deduction, Everton had been in perhaps their best and most consistent form in recent years. Four wins and two draws had them 14th-placed and looking nailed on for survival when last season, they escaped the drop by just two points.
Now, Dyche must ignite a fight in his squad to ensure they can continue seeing out results, and the Goodison Park faithful will certainly help them on their way.
Onana sidelined for United clash
On Sunday though, the Blues will have to manage without midfield stalwart Onana. He has played a pivotal role in the side this term but a calf injury means he will be watching on from the sidelines.
Dyche said in today’s pre-match conference: “Ama’s calf, I don’t think it’ll be right, it’s still sore.”
