Andre Onana returning to Manchester United for further tests on injury

Andre Onana will return to Manchester United after withdrawing from the Cameroon squad with an injury.

The 27-year-old was forced off after 81 minutes during his country’s World Cup qualifier against Mauritius on Friday and he will now miss their upcoming game versus Libya.

Manchester United take on Everton on next Sunday and Onana will be aiming to make the trip to Goodison Park.

Instead of staying with the Cameroon squad to face Libya, Onana is instead returning to Manchester where he will undergo further assessment with Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff, as per The Athletic, however it remains to be seen if he will be fit enough to play next weekend.

Ten Hag may need to call upon No.2 Altay Bayindir, who has yet to make his debut for United. Onana has started in all of United’s games this season and nobody wants that to change anytime soon.

The Cameroonian has kept six clean sheets this season for the Reds.

Hopefully the tests come back with positive results and Onana won’t miss any games.
