Andre Onana to undergo medical examination following adductor injury

Manchester United were handed extra injury concerns last night when Andre Onana was forced off after 81 minutes in Cameroon’s World Cup qualifier against Mauritius.

Luckily for Cameroon, they won 3-0 but not without Onana picking up a knock.

That comes as a huge blow to Manchester United because Erik ten Hag already had nine players out due to injuries and illness prior to the international break. It doesn’t bode well for the busy festive period that awaits Ten Hag’s side.

Cameroon’s victory was overshadowed by the exit of Onana, who was replaced by Fabrice Ondoa after sustaining a knock.

According to Actu Cameroun, Onana sustained an adductor injury which will raise concerns among United fans.

Onana will have to undergo medical examinations to determine the exact nature of his injury as well as the duration of his unavailability.

United signed Altay Bayindir in the summer to come in as Onana’s back-up and this could mean he will make his debut after the international break in the Premier League against Everton. The Turkey international, 25, is expected to start against Germany today.

Could the internationals get any worse for United?

  1. Watched the following highlights vid (so good stuff only) but was pleased with what I saw:

Bayindar is an agile 6ft 6in and looks to possess a commanding presence in the box. His reactions are quick and his reach is long. He can make himself BIG in one on one situations. Couldn’t help but see strong similarities with DDG. Didn’t see much to showcase his distribution skills, but when he parries a ball he makes sure it goes safe. If Onana is injured then Bayindar gets his chance. I’m looking forward to it, and to seeing how he performs against Germany tonight ⚽😎

  2. Bayindar has a lot of qualities we’d associate with DDG – be interesting to see how he performs against Germany tonight. I’m looking forward to seeing him get a run out for Utd – probably against Everton if these injury reports are correct.

      1. We’ve a decent tradition when it comes to our second keepers. The sooner we get to see if this 6ft 6in Turk is up to the job the better imo ⚽😎
