Brazil boss saddened by injury to Manchester United star

Casemiro has been ruled out of action for Manchester United and Brazil until the new year, but the news came as a source of ‘great sadness’ for his national team.

Injuries have been a huge problem for United this season. Erik ten Hag has had over 17 of his stars ruled out for periods of time, making it difficult to show any levels of consistency on the pitch. It’s been a huge factor in our slow start to the season.

Now, it doesn’t help that our only defensive midfielder has been ruled out of action until the new year. This doesn’t only concern Ten Hag, but the Brazil national team manager, It means Brazil are without their captain for this week’s World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina.

“It’s always good to be able to count on everyone,” Fernando Diniz said in reaction to the injuries that have ruled Casemiro and Neymar out of action, as per Gazeta Esportiva.

“It’s a shame and a great sadness not to be able to count on Neymar. He is missed in any scenario, as is Casemiro, one of the great exponents in the position in recent years in world football.”

While we didn’t want to be thinking about replacing Casemiro this soon, United need to sign a younger defensive midfielder to take the workload from the Brazilian, especially when he’s out injured.

That said, maybe I am forgetting about a certain Kobbie Mainoo, who should be ready to return after the international break.
