Fabrizio Romano provides update on Antony and Jadon Sancho

Manchester United are not considering a loan move winger Antony this winter, despite reports.

Antony, 23, has been linked with a move to Flamengo as part of a swap deal to take Gabriel Barbosa to Old Trafford. These reports from The Mirror were purely based on the Brazilian winger’s dismal form after failing to contribute a single goal or assist in his 11 appearances this season.

United paid big to prise Antony away from Ajax just weeks after Erik ten Hag arrived at Old Trafford. And, in his first season at the club, the Brazil international managed 10 goals and five assists.

However, a new update from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests United are not considering a loan move for Antony. Romano claims the former Ajax star will not return to Brazil despite recent rumours and adds that Jadon Sancho is expected to leave in January.

Romano wrote: “Understand Antony will not join Flamengo or any Brazilian club despite the recent rumours. That possibility is not even being considered.

“No loan deal, no plans to return to Brazil despite links with swap deal for Gabigol.

“Sancho, expected to leave #MUFC in January.”

Meanwhile, Flamengo denied reports they are trying to sign Antony on loan.

Sancho’s exit has been on the cards for some time. Well, ever since his public spat with Ten Hag as well as his refusal to apologise, but his transfer to United has been underwhelming since day one.
