Gary Neville laughs off suggestion he should be banned from Emirates

One Arsenal fan has called for Gary Neville to be banned from games at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal fans were super sensitive over the week after the decision to allow Anthony Gordon’s goal saw them fall to a 1-0 defeat against Newcastle on Saturday.

This led to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta throwing his toys out of the pram after the game, but the same applied to a few of their fans, who tend to be quiet when it comes to decisions that go their way.

Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were critical of the stance the club took by issuing an official statement on the matter.

The former Manchester United right-back took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state that Arsenal’s problems with PGMOL should be dealt with privately. Not on social media.

Neville wrote: “Arsenal’s letter and even the Liverpool statement a few weeks ago (they had a genuine bad one v them) are wrong. Do it privately.

“If I was Howard Webb I would stop apologising to them and get on with it. Managers and players make far more mistakes than refs!”

Carragher was in agreement with Neville.

This take from Neville upset a few Arsenal fans, but particularly one who believes the two Sky Sports pundits in question should be banned from commentating on games at the Emirates Stadium.

@SimonLester24 wrote: “Arsenal should just tell Sky Sports that both Carragher & Neville are both banned from The Emirates. It’s our property so we’ll invite who we want inside it thank you very much.”

The ridiculous take promoted a brilliant reply from Neville, which will undoubtedly upset more Arsenal fans, as he wrote: “To be fair with Spurs top now we will be coming less anyway.”

Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier League and they will be eager to see Chelsea beat Tottenham tonight. Otherwise, Ange Postecoglou’s side can move four points clear of the Gunners.
