Maguire 8, Antony 5: player ratings from Fulham 0-1 Manchester United

Manchester United are back to winning ways in the Premier League after a late win at Fulham this afternoon, with Bruno Fernandes’ 91st-minute strike giving his side all three points in a cagey affair.

United thought they had grabbed an early lead in the 8th minute when Scott McTominay poked in from close range but the goal was disallowed after a VAR check – the fourth time United have had a goal removed by the video assistants this season.

Erik ten Hag’s men enjoyed a positive start to their trip to the capital but Fulham grew into the game, making it an even but eventless 90 minutes up until Fernandes’ winner.

Man United Player Ratings

Andre Onana – 7
Growing into his own between the posts. Made two good stops to keep the score level.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7
Back in the side after a lengthy injury layoff. Did well.

Harry Maguire – 8
One of United’s best players in recent weeks. Blocked out all of the noise to perform.

Jonny Evans – 7
A good option to have in the squad and seems to have a good understanding with Maguire.

Diogo Dalot – 6
He was found lacking in the move that gave Newcastle the lead earlier this week. In an almost identical sequence today, he did what he should have done against Newcastle and saved his side from going a goal behind. Improvement.

Scott McTominay – 6
In to replace Casemiro in midfield but in a different role. Carried the ball well but not as often as you would like.

Christian Eriksen – 6
A typically assured performance in midfield.

Antony – 5
Seems to be out of ideas and low on confidence.

Bruno Fernandes – 8
United’s captain turns up for his side as he so often does. No one deserved to score the winner more than him.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6
Tough outing for the young Argentinian. Should still start the next game, however.

Rasmus Hojlund – 6
The one game since he joined where he wasn’t noticeable at all. Probably comes down to other issues than the forward.

  1. 5 for Antony?U guyz are too generous.lol.1 or 2 would be a far better rating.I still wonder why EtH isn’t giving Pellistri a starting berth in this team. The boy has the energy & good work rate.just notice how his aggression & energy contributed to the Bruno goal.Antony has been given plenty chances & has failed.time to give someone else a chance. Also hoping that Amad recovers soon & he can compete with Pellestri on that flank.Cant rely on Antony at all.We need effective players & he hasn’t shown any of this is his second season for God’s sake.

  2. Rasmus will come good once Antony, Garnacho, Rashford & Co. start trying to pick him out with passes. He gets into the right places often and doesn’t receive the ball. Row Z optimistic shots from our midfielders and defenders don’t help.
