Manchester United’s Andre Onana finishes 23rd in Ballon d’Or rankings and sixth for Yachine Trophy

Manchester United’s Andre Onana has finished 23rd in the 2023 Ballon d’Or rankings.

The ceremony is still ongoing this evening in Paris, as viewers await the winners of both the men’s and women’s awards.

Onana also placed sixth in the running for the Yachine Trophy, which is only for goalkeepers, and it was claimed by Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa and Argentina. It comes as no surprise given his outstanding heroics during the World Cup.

United’s No.24 enjoyed a scintillating season with Inter Milan in 2022/2023 before making the move to England; he won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana, and also reached the Champions League final.

After a troublesome start to life between the sticks at Old Trafford, Onana has been one of the side’s best performers in recent matches and has displayed his remarkable shot-stopping abilities on numerous occasions.

Fans’ confidence has begun to build in the 27-year-old and it’s clear that his has too.
